I’ve really enjoyed working in the ESL industry and am grateful for the certification and training I received from BEC that helped me land my first job in China and start me on a career in ESL.

After graduating from college in 2010, I decided to take the TESOL Diploma at the British Education Centre over the summer before moving on to a job in China. As it was my first teaching job the TESOL Diploma provided me the teaching pedagogy and the tools to work with my students. I spent a year in Shenyang, Northeast China teaching university students and then decided to take a job with Education First (EF) in Shanghai. While I was at EF I was able to develop even more as a teacher and progress up the career ladder. From 2012 to 2014, I worked as both a supervisor and an education manager for a team of 14 international and local teachers. After taking a year out of work to study Chinese full-time I will be returning to work for EF in Beijing. In short, I’ve really enjoyed working in the ESL industry and am grateful for the certification and training I received from BEC that helped me land my first job in China and start me on a career in ESL.
