Graduate Diploma
in TESOL
The London Teacher Training College Graduate Diploma in TESOL is aimed at those interested in developing their existing knowledge and skills in teaching English as a second or foreign language (TESOL/TEFL). It is designed for those who wish to take on a more senior level in their teaching career, such as senior tutor or ELT management, or for those who wish to enhance their professional development.
130 hours (The 16-week course consists of one 1:1 three-hour session per week at a mutually agreed day and time. In addition, there will be 48 hours of contact time. Combined with a minimum of 82 hours of private study
Course Fee: $2,850
Course Registration: $50
There is no GST to add.
The course fee includes LTTC enrolment/assessment fees, tuition for the course, course notes/handouts, Graduate Diploma scroll and administration costs.

During Graduate Diploma in TESOL training, you will develop an understanding of a variety of teaching approaches and develop syllabus design according to learner needs.

Graduates can look forward to a fulfilling career in language teaching and language curriculum/programme management in a range of educational institutions.

Module 1. Introduction to the English Language and its Origins
Aim: To understand in depth the spread of English as a global language.
Assessment: Minimum 1000-word essay.
Module 2. Teaching Methodologies
Aim: To develop understanding of the approaches and methodologies used in teaching language.
Assessment: Minimum 1000-word essay.
Module 3. Syllabus Design and Needs Analysis
Aim: To know how to identify learner needs and match them with appropriate syllabus design.
Assessment: Written assignment.
Module 4. EFL Examinations and Placement Tests
Aim: To understand the palette of examinations in ESOL and be able to approach preparing students for specific examinations.
Assessment: Minimum 1000-word essay.
Module 5. Research and Development
Aim: To research two topics of choice in TESOL and prepare a mini-dissertation in each.
Assessment: Two mini-dissertations, each minimum 3000 words.
Entry Requirements

A Diploma in TESOL or equivalent qualification of at least 100 hours study/assessment course hours.

A good level of English for the environment in which the candidate will teach.
