Authentic Experience of Teaching Foreign Speakers of English
-
As part of your training with us you will gain valuable, authentic experiences teaching foreign speakers of English as your practicum audience. These consist of volunteers from China, Vietnam, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, etc.
-
The assessed practicum is an original 45-minute lesson which you will deliver to peers. The practicum lesson, its development and assessed rehearsals are highly valuable as they help students to gain authentic experience for teaching in the classroom.
Upon the completion of the Diploma in TESOL, participants will be able to further their learning in TESOL through the completion of the Graduate Diploma in TESOL.
We keep an average of twelve students in a class, for good interaction and effective learning. In the event that a class has less than six, we may have to reschedule or postpone the class. If the class is greater than sixteen, we may have to split depending on the evolving situation of Covid.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Anand Vijayan, Singapore
“Taking the Graduate Diploma in Tesol course at British Education Centre was a wonderful experience. The trainers made the lessons fun and engaging. Special thanks to Yu Chin for all the guidance and motivation during all the modules. Glad to have met some amazing people during my time at BEC. The hands-on practical training were really helpful in building up confidence as well, especially for those with no prior teaching experience. If you are considering the TESOL course, I would highly recommend British Education Centre to everyone out there.”
Harriet Josey-Kerr, New Zealand
“I recently completed the 1-month intensive course towards a diploma in TESOL at British Education Centre. Each module of the course provided me with incredibly valuable information that will without a doubt aid me in my future career as an ESL teacher. I would recommend the British Education Centre to anyone who is serious about becoming a seriously good ESL teacher! Thank you BEC, you have been life changing."
Daniel Osgodby, Singapore
"Excellent team in place, teaching aspiring ESL teachers the right skills to pursue their passion. Every member of staff at BEC, from the trainers to administration team, are world class. If you want to be an ESL teacher, this is the place to be."
Radha Chillavaras, Singapore
“The first-hand experience I received from BEC is their quick and solution-based responsiveness. The lecturers were very forthcoming and adapted to various methods of teaching, to keep the learners engaged. During the circuit breaker, the lessons were conducted via online, yet the lesson quality was not compromised, in fact we learnt more value adding teaching methods. BEC has very good pool of administration staff who are readily available to help. Five-star rating is definitely justified.”
Agnes Michelle, Singapore
(ex-MOE teacher)
“After completing this course, I became more confident in teaching English. More importantly, I was able to understand the potential challenges our students might face. It has also convinced me that learning can be very fun. Hence, making me a better teacher. I would recommend this course to those who are interested in the English language and those who want to engage and motivate students better.”
Ally Chan, Malaysia
“I started with zero experience in teaching, after 6 months with BEC, I completed my TESOL with confidence in teaching and great inspiration from the teachers, staffs, and classmates. I would definitely recommend BEC for your TESOL journey.”
